Hidden Heroes: Anton Mkhungo, The Oyster Box

At Red Carnation Hotels, our teams are the beating hearts of everything we do. To highlight this, we would like to introduce our new Hidden Heroes campaign, which seeks to spotlight the remarkable people behind our distinguished hotels. We are thrilled to introduce our first Hidden Hero at Red Carnation Hotels, Anton Mkhungo at The Oyster Box.

 

Who is Anton Mkhungo?

Anton is the Maintenance Painter at The Oyster Box.

How long has Anton worked at The Oyster Box?

Anton has worked for the Oyster Box Hotel for five years. He began his journey with us as a member of a contracted external waste management company based on site. In this role he was invaluable in helping support the day-to-day running of our hotel by undertaking the enormous task of sifting, sorting, and disposing of our waste at the hotel.

Since 04 July this year however (2022), Anton has been promoted and welcomed into the Oyster Box family in a permanent capacity as a Maintenance Painter.

How is Anton getting on in his new role?

Anton has taken his new role in his stride and is continuing to impress Jonathan on a daily basis with his excellent work ethic and ability to seek out and tend to areas in need, often at his own will. He has truly adopted the ‘spot it, own it, fit it’ approach that is so central to our ethos and performance both at The Oyster Box and Red Carnation Hotels more broadly.

What is in store for Anton's future at The Oyster Box?

Anton’s more permanent position at The Oyster Box poses an exciting future. We could not be more thrilled to call him one of our own and look forward to his continued progression.
